Lately on my sidekick pager been gettin over 25 to 35 junk e-mails A DAY. I contacted my provider to find out why I'm gettin so much **** on my addy . He traced my connection and because I made reply to invisonforum,inc and same connected me as well others to every spammers there is, as well connected to google.com.... And will get worst... What can we do about this? While typing this post, I got 4 more spams.... And its annoying !

I'd use one e-mail address for important mail...

... and another address for your posts here at HH.com. The important mail address is the one that is attached to your pager, the other one isn't. I too have noticed a big uptick in spam to my HH address.

Your ISP may also have the option to allow the use of Spamassassin or some other spam-filter - if they enable it, you can set it up to send all flagged mail to a different mail account than your sidekick. Spamassassin is free and uses few server resources.

I just ran Spy Spotter..

after having had logged on to HH.com and it came back clean. Updated weekly.

I also have not received any extra e-spam, but note how I do my e-mail address...

Ain't NUTTIN'n safe from them danged spambot miners...

This is Brad posting! Seems Mark Hunt gets my name and e-mail address and I get his. I know he is like a brother but really now....

I left the author and e-mail headings as they were... what is going on? Anyone? Invision?

No spam that I can tell by the way, or at least no difference, but then I encrypt my own e-mail address.

I had the same problem last week. Seems my identity became someone else (I don't remeber who). I went into the cookies section and destroyed all traces. WHen I came back to HH.com, I had to re-do my identity upon posting and have not had any problems since. THis has happened before, and the solution was the same. Crush your cookies. Just be careful of your yarbels...

When you hit \"reply\"

the e-mail address of the person you are replying to should become visible. Or at least the field for it is. I spell mine out without the "@" symbol which keeps spam down.

How ti fix some of the spam problems.
Use the same process for cleaning cookies, go to CONTENT tab AUTOCOMPLETE uncheck boxes. This will prevent spyware use email info. Also use a spyware removal tools like ADAWARE. is free for personal use.

someone out there in computer land has done, or some some enterprising individual or group of individuals are out there confabulating some ways means or methods ,To do. my e-mail is sent now to the provider at a mailroom catch. i dont like it much as i have to remember that address and password and usually the put me through eleventeen steps to get to the spot where i can read it....last time around there were over 1000 e mails in my box..what to do what to do?

I have

been getting them for months at my personal email address which I do not use here. I have not gotten any on my hotmail account that I use.

I sure would like to know how to stop them without changing my personal account. We get at least three or four a day.

OK so far what has worked for me

I became a regestered user and the spam e-mails went away, that was great, now once in a while if I google a thread I end up with User Idenity problems but that is easily solved by going to options and renamimng myself, now if they stop putting my name on my work jackets I might forget but oh well.

None of this is intentional, and I hope you understand that. Invision is building into the Wall another level of security that will require you to type a random number into a box at the start of each of your Wall sessions. This should keep out most of the spybots that have been visiting us lately.

We've masked e-mail addresses for several years. The only way to see them is to click on Reply within each thread, but the smarter we get, the smarter they get, and so goes the World Wide Web. The new random number system is pretty complicated on the back end of the site, and it requires quite a few hours to set up (read $$$$$), but it should be ready within the next few days.

And as for the switching of names

This happens when you forward a thread URL to others, or when someone sends a thread to you. That URL carries with it the cookie that identifies you to the Wall software. When their cookie gets on your PC the system thinks that you are them. This is something we've known about since the day the site opened. You can get things back to normal on your PC by clearing the cookies and starting again.

None of that occurred, no thread URL's exchanged IIRC. This past couple of days has been the first time.

I would log on and be Brad, log on again later, maybe within an hour, and be Mark.

My cookie clearing habits have not changed.

Not complaining, it is no big deal, just a curious situation.

i know you like short stories so here goes,....

couple years ago i replied to a Nigerian Prince wanting to some help ..so, i told him that i thank him very much for his choice in contacting me and while i am in exile from my own native Poland i have not currently access to my legitimate birth right as the Prince from Witzki and am temporarily financially indisposed however i could,..with no personal expense to my self,help him,.. relocate the funds through an off shore account in the Grand Turks ...all i would require is his name and phone number and a small pittance with which to open the joint account in his name...:)
