I would 1st check the end switch to see if it is closing all the way, you may need to replace the operator on the ZV

    heating zone valve

I have a gas boiler with one circulator pump and 4 zone valves controled by a taco 4 zone control box. On zone 1 the thermo calls up and the call light goes on then the zone valve lights up but the light is weak and flickers a bit and it wont either open or turn the circulator pump on, but when any other thermo calls up after or with this one the light is strong and it works. Is this a bad zone valve or ?

  • Also check to mke sure any cube relays in the control are securely in place.

With a multi-meter check voltages out to the zone valve and make sure your getting proper voltage.

It sounds like the control is a Zone Valve Control which would not have cube relays like the Switching Relay series.
