Buffer tanks???

I had a Buffer tank made for us custom by a local company that makes water heaters. it's Stainless Steel 1.25" taps well insulated and looks like an indirect sans internal coil in 40 gallon size.

Had it made for a special project we where working on as I couldn't find a suitable one from the typical suspects.

Soooooo now I'm wondering if we built more of these is there much of a mrket out there . Who's been looking for something like this?? Can't be just me??

    Stainless steel?

    Overkill for a buffer tank.
Commercial jobs probably needs ASME certification.
I'd think it's probably cheaper to buy a reverse
    indrect and remove the coil.

Heat Transfer Products manufactures a stainless buffer tank too... although they have 1 1/2" tappings.

As for a reason to make it stainless... non-oxygen barrier tubing comes to mind.

    True

But you're talking abou their booster tank right?
A 40 gal unit only has 3/4 tappings. I think you have to go to an 80 gal tank for the 1.5" tappings and you only get 3.
