ZVC404 Taco control panel

We have just installed our new Quietside QVM-9 - 90NG Dual Purpose Boiler. It comes with its own external monitoring unit an FR-5. Could you tell me how to wire this unit into the TACO ZVC404, and also tell me how to wire in the upstairs thermostat so that when I ask it for heat the circulating pumps come on, boiler fires, then when satisfied all would shut down.

The Taco ZVC404 is a facilitator for wiring the thermostat, zone valves, and boiler. Thermostat wires should go to the TT terminals at the top of the ZVC board, and the Zonevalve to the corresponding 1234 terminals at the bottom of the board. The isolated end switch lower left hand corner of the ZVC board will then interface with the boiler TT terminals.

Joe is correct...but, the FR-5 must be added to the wiring or the Quietside will not function properly and give the inevitable error codes. The main end switch on the ZVC would connect directly to the thermostat, or TT, leads of a normal boiler. On the Quietside, one of the main end switch wires from the ZVC will connect directly to one of the orange "room thermostat leads" hanging loose in the lower RH corner of the case. The other main end switch wire from the ZVC will connect to one of the screws on the back of the FR-5. The other screw on the FR-5 will then complete the circuit by connecting to the orange "room Thermostat Lead" on the Quietside. You'll probably wind up running all of the dials all the way up in order to satisfy your various zones call for heat...at least initially. In your scenario, the FR-5 is only a diagnostic component...it will not funstion as a room thermostat and should be mounted near the boiler controls to eliminate somebody fooling with it.0
