2 x 4 box and t-stat

braand of t-stat (electronic - heat only) will completely cover a 2 x 4 electric box? I have been using the Invensys, but for some reason, they have made the top of their stat so that it sits flush with the top of the box. If the drywall isn't perfect it doesn't look to good!

honeywell makes back plates for their t-stats that will cover your box. if that doesn't work for you maybe someone else will have a suggestion for you0 -
Wirsbo makes a digital heat only that fits on a single gang (2x4") box (A3030101) and Tekmar TN4 thermostats have a mounting plate that will work with a single gang box.0 -
That tekmar/ Wirsbo
plate JUST barely covers a 2X4 box also. The sheetrock needs to be perfect.
Not to mention the high dollar prie tag for a chunk of plastic!

Eggxactly HR!
Thr Invynses that I use are the same. The have a plate that comes with the stat, that on the bottom, left and right sides, has extra meat to cover those areas. But the top of the plate is virtually the same as the stat. If the drywall placers cut on the outside of the box, there is a gap!
I could go back to just stringing the wire to the stud again, but sometimes I have a real problem remembering where we placed the wire and the holes that get cut into the drywall can be VERY messy!

2x4 box
a lot of times we just use a mud ring screw it to the stud and it a little neater rockers cut out around it also you can mount it to use veratical stat jeff0 -

That's interesting Hot Rod. I am wondering if we are talking about the same products because the Tekmar plate is the exact same size as a wall switch cover and the Wirsbo thermostat is even larger.
99.9 percent of our installs are one of these two as we like to pull some extra wire and leave it spooled up inside of the gang box for future purposes.
Just my thoughts.

Is Totaline = Invensys?
They have a flushmount that looks like it would fit nicely into a box.0 -
