copper pipe hangers/clamps for mounting?

I can not find 1-1/4 copper clad split ring hangers. Can I use galvanized ones? I know about connecting dissimilar metals but wasn't sure if it was ok to use the galvanized hangers around the copper pipe.

    Both

hangers are iron (steel) or white metal underneath. Even the copper ones. Those have a copper wash (cheap plating) mostly to distinguish the sizes/types (OD in your case) in the stock room. It is cosmetic.

Dielectric corrosion only happens in the presence of an electrolyte (water inside the pipe) so unless you have dripping going on, go for it.

If you have any doubts or want a tighter fit, wrap the pipe at the point of contact with a strip of tar paper as a "gasket". I would even go up a size if you can and wrap with Armaflex tape as a modest, compressed thermal break.

Better yet- get teardrop hangers which allow continuous insulation right through the hanger.

If you do use the split rings (AKA F&M or Fee and Mason), it is a good thing to use the heavy-duty 3/8" lock nuts on the plate and the ring. Makes the whole thing very stiff especially with the rod in the horizontal.
