Need info on a feed check valve for 150# Boller

We are actually using four(4) check valves one at each pump and two (the original ones) in the discharge line. Also the idle pumps valves are not aligned for operation until the pump is place in service.

Info on a feed check valve for 150# boiler

I am not sure anyone will be able to help, I realize this forum usually deals with heating problems. But hey, we are heating air with the steam coils.
The feed pumps for our 150# steam boiler recently failed and upon replacing I discovered the two(2) discharge lift check valves were leaking by excessively, so badly that the feed tank was being heated to >180F. These checks were installed in series in the common discharge line. I installed a lift checks on each pump. Now the checks are sticking closed. Are there swing checks available for this pressure and would they work better? Or is there another alternative?

Why did you change the valve locations? You went from two in series after the pump discharges were tied together, to one on each pump discharge.

In the current set up, if only one pump is running, the opposite pump is getting it's check valve hammered shut by the discharge pressure of the running pump. Also with the two check valves in series, I assume that you would have less leak by and therefore less etching of the valves.

    Spring check valves

Try using spring loaded check valves. We typically see United Brass 50T spring loaded check valves with teflon seats used for your application. One at the pump outlet and one at the boiler. If chemical attack presents a problem for the brass, upgrade to Watson-Mc Daniel type WCVS stainless steel spring loaded check valves. We would never use swing check valves for boiler feed. If you cannot find these check valves locally, call us at 800-821-3986. We stock both types. Good luck.
