This might be the ticket for cast iron boiler protection. Just pipe pri-sec, set the boiler loop for minimum 135 degrees.

I finally

got it installed. In my own house, I took out the existing atmospheric gas furnace, and installed a high efficiency heat pump with a back up hot water coil which is powered by a Munchkin. The Munchkin also heats my Snow melt and radiant floor, and eventually an indirect for domestic hot water. On the "back up" hot water coil loop, I have installed a new Taco 00VS, variable speed circulator. I have programmed it to maintain 115 F supply duct temperature sensed by a thermister is my supply plenum. When it gets cold enough outside, that the heat pump cannot heat the house alone the circulator will sense the lower supply duct temperatures and will circulate enough hot water to maintain my warm air. The colder it gets outside the more hot water it will need to circulate. I've just been playing with it turning the heat on and varying the boiler temperature so it will have to ramp up and down. What fun! My dear and patient wife came down and remarked how hot it was getting upstairs, (:X) so I had to stop. Seems to work very well. I plan to use another one on a Solar job I just got a deposit on. WW
