Boiler cleaning

My new steam boiler has been running pretty well for a few weeks but I think it needs another cleaning/skimming. The boiler is a Peerless EC/ECT 3 section, Net I=B=R Rating of 283 sq ft steam.

The manual dictates "Mix a proportion of 1 lb. washing soda for each 800 sq ft EDR net boiler rating" but the manual does not tell me the boiler's net EDR rating.

Is there a simple rule for how much washing soda to use for skimming? For the initial cleaning I used a half pound of TSP Substiute (mixed with water in pail and poured into the boiler) and then skimmmed for an hour.

Thanks!
