One pipe hw system

Yes, it does have seperate risers. Which valve should I close, the in or out or both? I don't want to get air into the system or some other problem like noise. I think the convectors are a little oversize for the bedromms, they are only about 120 sq ft each.

shutting down a convector
Hi Guys,
My house (a cape) was built in 1951 it has a one pipe loop hot water system. The 2 bedrooms upstairs were completed in the 60's by my dad. His plumber freind installed the convectors in each room. One of the bedrooms is the first off the boiler, the other is the fourth. The living room is the last. We do not use the bedroom that is fourth on the circuit. It has shutoff valves for both the in and out. Can I shut that convector off to attempt to get more balanced system (supplying more heat to the living room which is slightly cooler than the other rooms)without causing any problems? Should I close both or one of the valves on that convector or leave it alone?
Thanks,
Joel
