    Dunham Bush/Warren Webster Sys????

Seeking some help identifying and understanding this system.
The system was installed early 1950s. The boiler,vacuum/condensate tank and controls were were replaced 1996. The system has two zones(auto/valves).
I found two Dunham Bush Vari Vac differental controllers, located at the far end of the supply/ret lines.
I suspect they are no longer used and not removed when the new controls were installed.

The current boiler is Smith mod 28A-6 gas.
Condensate tank is controlled by Klockner/Moeller control panel. Two air pumps and two water pumps.
There is no literature at site. Boiler cyles off@5 psi,on @0 psi. Below 55 deg the boiler maintains 5lbs even thogh ther is no call for heat from either zone.
The condensate system semms to operate independently of the boiler. Boiler has oa stat set @55 deg.
A Johnson unitary controller (Facilitator) with two space sensors and remote temp setpoints for each zone.
Also has a Honeywell programable controller (time clock).
I am currently making a drawing of the system piping and wiring. Sorry no pictures.

Should this system be controller by a vaporstat? press?
Should the condensate system be interlocked with the boiler?
I am going to seek a qualified contractor to work with when i finish the drawing. However,I am hoping someone here can give guidance and suggestions regarding this system.

Possibly an aquastat to maintain boiler water when there is no call for heat.

    The Vari-Vac system

is still being made. When operating properly it modulates the heat output pretty well. Dunham is now MEPCO and their site is www.mepcollc.com .
