Where to find double wall stainless steel flue pipe

flue pipe:

I believe double-wall is 1" clearance to combustables; expensive stuff.

    I've used

Selkirk and Security Chimney stuff. I liked the Security (CT series?) a lot. Good fit on the joints and good associated hardware. They make it in single wall and double wall. I don't know if you'll find any zero clearance though.

And Yes, like Hot ROd says, it is big bucks!

    confused terms?

If you have a power vented appliance, you cannot vent into regular UL 103 or 103HT factory chimney. You would need special vent such as AL29-4C stainless listed for such use. FYI, factory chimney generally carries a 2" clearance to combustibles among other rules. Generally, the mfrs lised instructions will specify a brand(s) of pipe suitable for use with that system. The appliance mfr would also state the clearances to this single walled pipe.

    Follow the instructions!
  • High price of flue material

is one of the reasons I may switch to Noritz; seems to be proprietary flue fittings and pipe at half the price. I don't remember seeing double-wall pipe, though.

Can you use regular stainless and sleeve it?

I have installed the single wall stainless thru a sleeve of B vent to achieve 1" clearance to combustibles and the inspectors seem to like it alright. It doesn't add much expense for materials. I used site-fabbed spacers to hold the two pipes in alignment with even spacing.
