pressuretrol

I have two onepipe steam boilers. One has the pressuretrol installed on the low water shutoff and the other has it installed on the top of the boiler. Everything I read says to install it on the low water shutoff. I asked a few heating guys and they say it doesn't matter. Who is right? and if it matters, why? Thanks

The installation instructions say to always install the Pressuretrol above the water line, with a steam trap between the boiler and the controller. You can check out the details at customer.honeywell.com--go to the very bottom right corner, enter L404 in the bottom little white box. When the next page appears, select the second pdf, and go to page 5.0
