Joy for peace of mind look at the top of the site under find a pro. and call another guy in your area. This may not be normal. With combustion play it safe!0 -
Angela, one way is to disconnect the radiators, take outside and hose them out. the runouts can be done by a hose and an open flush valve in the basement. Dirty work call a pro! also panting can be caused by sagging pipes. look for broken hangers and pipes pitched the wrong way. sags in your pipe runs will hold condensate and stop the steam. a lazor level works great to check the pitch over a distance. usually the main pipes pitch from the boiler down hill to the return. they may also pitch back to the boiler but never bothways in the same run with out a drip pipe at the lowest point. Hope this helps. Missing pipe insulation will also cause panting0
