Best heating for home built on slab with no bsmt?

on top of slab would be the most comfortable. Quik Trak by Wirsbo is what I sometimes use. We also sometimes put down 1 inch extruded syrofoam and staple the pex to it and do an overpour. A lot depends on how much height you can take away from the ceiling, and if there are any threshold or built in cabinent issues. I don't like the forced air through the floor. Too much chance of mold and health issues. WW

best heating system for two story home built on slab(no bsmt)?

Could use some experience on this one, I'm not familiar with slab foundation homes, but have installed hydronic baseboard.
I'm purchasing a home built directly on slab with no basement. The home has gas powered, forced air heating with floor ducts built into the concrete on the first floor, according to the owner. I'd like to convert the whole house to hydronic heat and am seeking the better and easier type to convert to, baseboard or radiant floor. What are my options, since there is no crawl space under the home and I'm planning to add pergo, wood flooring, and tiles to the outdated floors?

This won't be inexpensive to install but it will be inexpensive to operate with exceptional comfort.

Warmboard (heavy gauge aluminum bonded to plywood). You don't need the structure, but the plywood you give you reasonable insulation between the (now) warmed floor and the cold (and likely uninsulated) slab. If you choose this (or similar) route, ONLY consider condensing/modulating boilers!

    radiant floor...

would be nice but I don't know how practical it will/would be... alot of height problems or digging up concrete. Another option I might look intop would be panel rads using a manifold to snake 1/2" and 3/8" pex lines around the house......Buderus has them and is what I did in my home. kpc
