Baxi Boilers

they had a condensing model available; I've only used their 84% model, heating only and combi units. They are very nice, work well, reliable and quiet.

    Baxi Boilers

I had an EnergyStar audit done on my house, and the contractor is recommending that I replace my 25 year old Utica Boiler with a Baxi Luna HT condensing boiler.

What is the general opinion of the Baxi boilers? How much life is probably left in my Utica Boiler? Does it make sense to replace a boiler that's still working well?

  • the numbers would tell you that... should be there in the energy audit if so.

Baxi's are popular up here. I have seen a couple of issues out there but if the contractor is confident and capable of servicing it, just in case, I don't see a red flag. Should be a nice efficiency jump.

The HT Boilers came out in late summer. They have been well received in the Northeast. Nice boiler..

    Installed a Baxi

Installed a Baxi last winter here in Minnesota. Was very impressed with the operation, quiet, even with the cover off. The fun is watching/hearing the burner ramp up/down when the entering watre temperature changes. This was the combi with domestic hot water option. The only problem we run into, was the plumber would not connect the potable water to the unit. Said the fittings where too small, no flow. Checked with the building inspector, okayed over the phone and signed off on later. His comment to me was the meter on the residence restricts as much as the boiler fittings would. Then to top it off, once the plumber received the okay was to finish the install in 1/2" pex rather than continue the 3/4 to the fittings.

Nice boiler, I would like to put one in my own house to replace a gas water heater. Then I can add some radient heat to the basement. How can I propose this to the miss's

You will like the vent material, 10meters max length, but very flexible, it is a corrugated pvc material. Do need too support to prevent the condensate from collecting in low spots.

    Baxi vs. Viessmann

How do the Baxi HT condensing boilers compare against the equivalent Viessmann boilers, in terms of efficiency, reliability, serviceability, lifespan, and cost?
