but do you really want to shackle yourself to an unregulated monopoly, as most gas utilities are? Here in Baltimore, we just got hit with a 72% electric-rate hike. Golden parachutes for their CEOs.....

Depending on who made your boiler, there may be a gas burner package available from the factory. Or, they may not support conversion burners at all. Or, they may not care one way or the other.

Carlin, Midco, HeatWise, Wayne and others make gas conversion burners. I think Beckett is coming out with one also.

If you do convert it, make sure the job is done by a pro with the proper test equipment.

CONVERTING OIL TO NAT GAS

I have a oil fired steam system boiler which I would like to convert natural gas. The boiler is only three years old and was installed before I bought the house. I intend on finishing my cellar and could use the space that the two 275 gallon tanks encased in concrete are using and dont have any other practical location for them. I am wondering about efficiency,whether or not the system would operate properly and a name of a company that makes natural gas guns for conversions
