A thread can only be pulled so far before it breaks or becomes irrelevant. As far as the Pro-Press problem goes I would get chemical analysis of the mixture, installation procedures and perhaps a metallugist involved to look for inconsistancies of the pipe structure. There has to be answers either pro or con regarding this application of Pro-Press.

As far as tolerances are concerned it is the nature of the beast due to globalization based on price versus quality.Price should have followed global standards ( yet to happen)

As far as technology goes it does not take a brain scientist to figure out that the Europeans have faced high fuel prices way before we have and are far ahead of us in sophisticated controls, heat producing devices and regulations that are policed to assure compliance.

It is one thing to be patriotic, however sooner or later you have to become a realist which in turn should convince you that we have very fuel inefficient heat sources in this country with an energy policy based on the needs of the fuel producers more than the users.

The formation and continued growth of the European Union (which includes the United Kingdom) will leave this great country of ours in it's dust (they don't produce much soot).

Some should read more and speak less. We are into this globalization movement for good and international co-operation will far better serve us than baseless criticism.

Food for thought!
