Over the weekend I updated another heating contractors boiler from a cast iron sectional to a Buderus GB142/24. He wanted to keep his existing boilermate and as many of you know these two don't mesh well.

I need to find a long well that I can stick in the top of the boilermate for mounting the Buderus hot water heater sensor. I can't find one at any of my suppliers. Is anyone aware of a product?

    Thanks,

    Josh

How old is the Amtrol unit? The newer models with the "smart" control use the same ohm sensor as the GB and will work.

If it is an older model, Joe@Buderus posted a way to do this with that set up.

    Subject: GB142 DHW Sensor

The GB142 can be "fooled" with a resistor and a relay board with a "normally open" and normally closed" set of contacts. The GB142 DHW setting should be set to 125 degrees. A 3.3k Ohm resistor is wired into the "normally closed" set of contacts. When the aquastat calls the relay on, the normally closed relay is opened resulting in the GB142 seeing a domestic call. When aquastat is satisfied "normally closed" contacts close and the GB142 sees the 3.3k Ohm resistor. please contact me at 1-800-283-3787 or e-mail if there are any questions. Hope this helps.

    Give Joe a call.
