7184U CONTROL PROBLEM
THE CONTROL IS A HONEYWELL 7184U PRIMARY CONTROL WITH POST AND PRE PURGE. THE SYSTEM IS COLD START. JUICE IS GOING IN ON BLACK WIRE FROM L1 {8148 CONTROL}. JUICE IS ALSO COMING INTO THE RED WIRE FROM B1 {8148}. AFTER A COUPLE OF DAYS CONTROL IS SITTING "DEAD IN THE WATER". JUICE GOING IN AND NOTHING GOING OUT, ALL ZONES CALLING FOR HEAT.
THIS IS ON AN AF2 BECKETT BURNER. WE NOW HAVE THE OIL LINE HEATER DISCONNECTED, HOPING THIS MAYBE THE PROBLEM.
ANY HELPFUL ADVICE WOULD BE GREAT !!0 -
OK...I had to print everything, but
From B1, there should only be power when calling for heat and only 1 wire is to come from B1 term. B2 left blank. B1 goes directly to (Limit) term on the R7184.. L1 & L2 should come directly from your L8148A control. If that is correct, check the amp draw on your burner motor/Pump. Make sure the polarity in correct on L1.L2 Also, check to amp draw when both on and off,...Maybe something is overdrawing or something. Please give some Meter readings and more info if you can.

7184U CONTROL PROBLEM
THANK YOU MIKE T.
I WENT TODAY WITH AN AMP PROBE. MOTOR ON STARTUP IS DRAWING BETWEEN 5.5 AMPS AND 6.O AMPS AND THEN RUNNING 1.5 TO 2.0 AMPS AFTER START. THE VALVE AND IGNITOR, SEPERATELY, ARE DRAWING FRACTIONAL AMPS. THE OIL LINE HEATER IS DRAWING .5 AMPS. ALL SEEM TO BE WITHIN NORMAL RANGE. CORRECT?? THERE IS NO DRAW WHEN OFF. THE POLARITY IS ALSO CORRECT. ANY OTHER ADVICE? ONCE AGAIN THANK YOU!! GREG0 -
Greg,
When you said it's dead in the water, What exactly do you mean? Nothing happens, burned out? What?

HAve you check
Ohms on your Cad Cell? see if it runs without the Cad Cell hooked up until lock out then see if its runs with a 1.5K Ohm Resistor between FF once its running, if it runs with the resistor then is the cad cell if it drops out or sputters its the control.0 -
