in THE MAIN WALL
I have quotes for a carrier 58DLA070 and a Trane XV80. What is the differance if any? Thanks, Jim

    Jim,

    Im not 100% sure about the trane, but the Carrier is a single stage, non-ecm motor, 80% eff. gas furnace ( basic model ).I think the Trane is variable speed.

    Have you considered going to a 92%+ eff. 2 stage unit w/ var. speed blower? Much more efficient and quieter.

    It depends where you are , but the utilities are offering some attractive rebates on the 92+ units.
