Zone valve ball broken?

One of the zones in my home was not delivering hot water so I replaced the elec. control of the zone valve(Honeywell)leaving the valve part of the control intact. Everything is working but there is still no hot water pumping through that line. So I took the controler off the valve and manually opened the ball valve. Still no flow. Could the ball be stuck closed and the stem still turn? Thank you.

Chances are that you are air bound in that particular line. The air must be removed (purger or bled) depending on what system you have.

The zone valve should have a manual opener level on the same end that the wires come out of. The valve will open when you push the lever to "manual."0 -
and if you
find no rsistance when opening the manual lever that means its open and calling for heat and look elsewhere for the problem, probably air as mentioned above0
