    XG2000-A Burnham Boiler

I have a 1987 XG2000-A Burnham Boiler, installed new in Sept. 1990. Throughout its life it has used up 4 control units; the first one failed just after the warranty period, but the company was good enough to pay for it anyway. When the thermostat is calling for heat, a malfunction of some sort usually occurs; the furnace shuts off, then comes back on repeatedly till the thermostat is satisfied. When it shuts down this way, the logic circuit indicates continued connection through the thermostat and thermal cut-off (roll-back switch); after a few seconds the pilot and burners are reignited. The gas pressure has been checked. The last time the control was replaced, the problem continued as before. What is the problem here, and what can be done for it?
