Inducer fan kit/Buederus anyone?

I am thinking that there might be an issue with air just slowly moving through the heater and possibly rusting out the system. I agree with the wall mounted GB142. What a awesome unit. I have installed about 8 that are currently heating houses and have one i'll be working on monday and we have a few more on order. The one I'm working on now I think will be showcase worthy.

Buderas Inducer fan kit? anyone
Due to moisture problems in our home it was recommended that when we replace our hydronic boiler system we go with more direct vent, fan etc. to help with this problem as well.
Does anyone know about Inducer fan kits available for the Buderas boilers. Are they effective, any experiences, andcosts therein. Would appreciate any pertinent comments!!! Thanks much RM0 -
What type of fuel are you burning? If it's gas or propane, I would stay away from a 'afterthought' power venter and go with either a GA series seled combustion boiler, or the new wall mounted condensing 98% efficient buduers which is sealed combustion. If you're dealing with oil, then I would go with a direct vent buderus G 115 series boiler. Less parts to fail when compared to a draft induced or a power vented piece of equipment. The direct is VERY picky though you really need need to get a THOROUGH cleaning done each year.

reply inducer kit
We currently use natural gas. we had an energy audit done bya profesionnal and he addressed our moistuer issues. mildew on sme walls, very high humidity throughout home etc. He suggestd i energy efficient direct vent type furnace, along with similar on a hot water heater and some additional venting added to home. However the buderus we are considering is a Model Logano G-124 ?
Thanks RM0 -
don't see any connection?
I don't see any connection between an atmospheric venting and power venting appliance influencing moisture in the house?
unless the units ARE venting in the house?
Is the house new? or very tight? maybe the appliances are not getting enough combustion air? thus dumping combustion products into the house?

Direct vent
It is suggested to use the GA124 if going with a cast iron sealed combustion boiler. The GA124 series cost the same as a G124 with our optional side wall draft inducer. The contractor would still have to wire and install the draft inducer on the G124. The GB142 is a wall hung condensing aluminum block boiler. It is also sealed combustion and vents with PVC pipe. It is suggested to discuss the options with the contractor about which model boiler would best suit your needs and budget.0 -
Joe,
Correct me if I'm wrong, but the draft fan is integral to the GA124 and all that the user would need in this situation is the "concentric vent kit" that can be used with it.
This will take the air from the outside, and pre-heat the incoming air a bit on its way to the sealed combustion burner.
Side story: The first time I lit one of these GA boilers off...I had to VISUALLY confirm that it was lit! My test equipment was louder than the boiler!!! Chris0 -
humidity
Great stuff regarding a new boiler. Unles you want your house to dwindle away, are you planning on addressing the humidity? Did the expert have any idea what was cauing it?
Forget those junky store bought dehumidifiers, you may need the AprilAire 1700 unit or the Santa Fe. Do you have standing water in the basement? Gutter issues? High ground water?
You've come to the right place for boiler questions, but you may want to deal swiftly with you humidity issues.

Inducer fan kit/BUDERUS anyone?
so putting an inducer fan kit on g124 might be safe, and as efficient as another type of buderas. have a chance to buy a barely uses g124 at v reasonable price, otherwise might l look at diff. buderus one.0 -
reply on inducer kit?
basically had a complete energy audit done by a professional who also deals with humidity issues. We have about 60-65 percent humidity in home right now in midwest climate in house. he addressed solutions. new gutters are on house and we have done some landscaping and plan to do some more in future.
Recommendastions included furnace that was not atmospheric basically, along with hotwater heater that is direct vent or instant type, along with better bath fan and a inline fan for a wall area of house.
Due to some issues with furnace, we may need to replace anyway so have a chance to get buderas g124 but need to add inducer kit on it so that we follow recommendastions regarding moisture just want to see if this seems like an effedctive, efficient method., we have a chance to pickp a barely uses g124 model of buderus reasonable so that is reason for wanteing to add on inducer kit. does this seem reasonable? i am a consumer with no hvac background.0 -

GA124 vs G124
The GA124 has the inducer motor all factory assembled and wired inside of the boiler jacket. Yes it is that quiet that you can hear the boiler running! The G124 is an automospheric boiler and the inducer fan is mounted on the rear "flue collector". The installer would have to remove the flue pipe connector, attach the inducer fan and wire in the relay to energize the inducer fan.0
