We'd recommend 2 Gorton #2s on the longest main, a Gorton #2 and a Gorton #1 on the next shorter main, and a single Gorton #2 on the shortest main.

Main vent big enough?

I've got vent rite #35s on the following mains:
- 100' 3" main
- 75' 3" main
- 45' 2" main

Does somebody know if the vents that I have are sufficient for normal performace of the system?

If it helps, the steam boiler that feeds the mains generates 1200 sq ft of steam.

I think we need more

three on the long one, two on the middle one, one on the short one. All Gorton #2 vents.

By the way, would you guys happen to know how much EDR these mains would add to my 1100 sq ft EDR from my radiators? I used a pickup factor of 1.5 when sizing my new boiler. Is another 550 EDR all I should need to add to my total EDR calculation for these mains?

That

should be plenty. It may even be a bit too much, since a 1.33 pickup factor is already figured into the boiler's Net rating.

Thanks. To be certain, the boiler has a 1650 sq ft steam gross rating, my radiators account for 1100 of this and I was hoping that the 550 left would be enough to account for the piping.
