    Being the skeptic I am, I have serious doubts about the product claims, as I suspect anyone who was not sleeping during 8th grade science may too.

    The website suggests radiant energy losses are far greater than convective or conductive. This fundamental flaw in their "reasoning" makes us want to hit the delete key before long.

    The bubble foil guys tried and lost, I think Mark Eatherton actually messed around with that stuff and found it "less than adequate for the intended claims and purpose."

    Is any reflective surface of any shape better than none under a staple up install? I suppose so, but not in light of other cheaper and easier apps. IMO.

    My staple up radiant on my just completed own home, was with aluminum plates, and 2" aluminum-faced rigid foam, secured to the "flange" of the OSB manufactured floor joists. This allowed ~2" of air space between the reflective face and the sub-flooring. The remaining joist-bay was then stuffed with 12" f.g. insulation, then sheet rocked.

    Given that our design temp here is 30-below, I am sure the method is sound and the designs make for great comfort with very low water temps.

    The major drawback (besides the obvious marketing BS) with the product mentioned would be the curvature of the "parabola" would reduce the dimension remaining for insulation by a substantial margin.

    Adding to what my wife says, "You can never be too rich, too thin, or have enough insulation." (;-o)

    Here is a positive

    The only good thing I can say is that it can help create a sealed air pocket for the open 2X4 truss systems, however the foil has nothing to do with that. The same could be done with scrap cardboard.

    Ok, that is the only positve thing I can honestly say.
