Which Propress do you like?

Hi Leo, we have one big battery tool and 4 small ones. The biggest I have ever pressed in 2 1/2, it was a treat seeing "the beast" press that baby down.

You probably know you'll need the big jaw kit for stuff over 2" I heard it costs a grand or so. When I did the 2 1/2 I borrowed it from the supplier.

If you're doing appartment boilers I don't see how you could live without one.

The fittings are expensive, but how cheap is your labor? Put your business hat on and make it happen! You may want to eyeball the fittings a little, if you get a dented one you have to fight with the supplier. When I had this big job I did delivered to the site the driver dropped a box off the back oif the truck; thankfully no big PP was i that box.

    one of my

reps has just dropped some Pro-press lit into my lap. Am thinking about it for my heating panels and apartment boiler change-outs. Is the battery operated one really good enough to crimp the 4" fittings? How long does a charge last? The batteries? Anything you can tell me about these things would be greatly appreciated so that we can make a better decision.

    Thanx,

    CT 400

Leo -If your only going to buy one propress let me suggest the big one, CT 400 110 volt machine then down the road you can pick up a battery model for service work. CT 400 with dies to 4" will set you back over 4,000.00 Worth every dime. Best Wishes J. Lockard

    Leo,

Given the long and extremely troubling PP leaks issue thread of a few weeks ago, and the promise of Viega to answer all questions and issues regarding same, I'd hold off a bit. They promised a public answer and full response by the end of this month.

That's about two weeks away. Perhaps the new toy should wait?

    Thanx guys

I am in the process of doing "due diligence" right now. I thought if I get started now, then by ther time Viega came back with their results, I would be in a good position to make the final decision. For my end of the business, all the joints would be on the exposed panel boards. For the other end, we are looking at maybe a couple of small apartment blocks in the new year so we are looking for the hallway mains onthe plumbing end.
