Vaporstat issue & Install pics
I've just installed a new Burnham IN6. The job was sold complete with a Tekmar 269, balancing, & all the fixings. The home only requires 1 oz. of pressure per " Lost Art of Steam Heat." So I set the main to 1 & the diff. to 8. It didn't take very long for the control to shut down the boiler. After adjusting it for a while, 8 @ the main with a diff. of 2 kept the boiler firing as long as the thermostat would allow. It only takes the mains under 2 min. to get hot to the main vents. What can I do to get the Vaporstat to work @ the low pressure it is meant for ?0 -

I guess the point is the vaporstat would be adjusted as the boiler fires to what setting keeps the boiler on. So with that said is the " Lost Art of Steam Heat" method no good ? Why would this boilers' pressure build so quickly when I have it piped properly ?0 -
Imay be wrong but,
Are you sure your system only requires 1oz of pressure?
I'm no expert but it seems you would need a pressure closer to 10-16oz and a cutoff of 2oz. Methinks you may have read the book wrong and have your scales backwards. Wait till a pro answers.0
