The famous people

live in the work they do . Like all the "DEAD MEN" their name are in the steel , copper and magic they do with their hands . A Hundred years from now...... Most of us never get the 5 minutes of fame or our names in People and Newsweek. But touch lives in other ways ,Dan with this web site , gives us a way to reach out and help others , to learn and teach . You are right , Jerry's name will be remembered here . Like so many other . God bless him and the men who spread their knowledge here.

    I have noticed

recently with the passing of Jerry Jubinville that I can remember clearly what he looked like. I met him at the first Wetstock along with Ruthe. Until then he was only a name on The Wall.

That first Wetstock was one of the best events I have EVER attended. To get to hang with a bunch of "wetheads", talk about "things hydroninc" and not get "funny" looks from everyone in the bar.(Some....but not all)

The other day I happened upon a "People" magazine that my wife had setting on the kitchen table. For "poops and giggles" I opened it up to see what it was that attracted so many subscribers to this rag.

I had NO IDEA who any of these "people" were! I never even heard of most of them. Who the hell are these people and what have they done that makes them worthy to have their pictures in such a popular magazine???

I have heard of and can recognize Mark Eatherton, Ken Secor, Dan Holohan, Darin Cook, Butch Murphy, Scott Milne, Chris Aiello, Devan Singh, Ron Jr., Matt Sweeney, Pat (Alaska Time) Clark, Dan Foley, Chuck Shaw, Brad White, Jamie Pompetti, Wayne Krump, Noel Murdough, Heat Boy, Paul Pollets, Dave Yates, Hot Rod, Tim McElwain, Jim Davis, John Barba, Tim Doran, Mike and Dan Chiles, Russ Rose, Steve Weiland, Steve Grady, Dave Connors, John Sawyer, Floyd Kolbe, John Rhunke, Steve Ebels, John Hall, John Starcher, Mike Kraft, Alan Mercurio, Jeff Lawrence, Bill Wolfe, Rudy Leatherman, Ruthe Jubinville...............

    Jerry Jubinville.

These are just a few of the celebrities in my world. The "people" that have made and continue to make a difference in this world. These are the people that the folks in "People" AND the rest of the world depend upon for their safety and comfort. No awards show for that folks. Still.......they do it. No "million dollar per scene" contracts, still.......they do it.

I wish I could attend the memorial for Jerry that Ruthe has planned, but current circumstances prevent me from doing so.

Ten, twenty years from now I will remember Jerry Jubinville and what he looked like. I guess that means he made an impression that will last a lifetime. I can honestly say that no-one in "People" magazine ever matched Jerry Jubinville. I do not impress easily.

Ruthe, God bless and keep you. You're a star.

    You must write for

a magazine. I have lurked here for some time and never posted. I never met Jerry or Ruth. Now I wish I had met Jerry. Your post reminds me that I have few heroes. May I adopt a few here? Dale
  • I'm honored...AND humbled.

Honored to have briefly met Jerry at Wet Stock, and humbled by your thread and friendship.

You should write for a magazine...

    There is little

I can add to the replies so far- so beautifully stated, all! I did not know of Jerry Jubinville but thanks to Mark and the other tributes, I have a sense of who he was, what he was about and how he will be missed. To Ruthe, my heartfelt condolences.

Mark indeed should write for a broader audience! In my off-line correspondence with Mark (and those that have also know this): There is a force conviction backed by intelligence and experience, wrapped in rivetting prose. I second calls for Mark to write for publication!

    Very Well written Mark

You have said very well what many of us feel and think.

I have to say that I never spent the time to sit and talk with Jerry. My Loss. The Wetstocks went by so fast its tough to get to speak with everyone but I can tell that Jerry was one I should have taken the time to meet.

I also am honored to call so many here by the highest compliment .... My Friend.

    Scott
