PAP to panel rad

We're quoting a job replacing electric BB with an oil boiler and panel rads. 2 story home so we're going to be in walls. I don't want to use a compression fitting for the PAP in the wall. Crimp connections aren't possibility with PAP are they?

If we have to run the PAP to the rad is there any decent way to trim the PAP out? I haven't found anything that really looks good.

    check out multicor thread

There's a thread on MultiCor press connections on the wall. Check it out. As far as dressing up the connections -- I've seen people use chrome nipples from the radiator through the floor, and then use a female X multpress adapter below the floor. It's a matter of looking at a chrome piece of pipe compared to a white piece of pipe.

    Our company policy...

Is NOT to connect panel radiators with pex...at all. We change to copper before going into the radiator all the time, with FAR FEWER ill effects. The pex just seems to "squirm" after a while, and then the effluent starts to hit the air movement device !

Save yourself the time and go copper or something shiny. Pex to copper or female adapters ARE available...use them. I agree with Mr. Barba,Make the change before the radiator, but..been there, done that...got the reaming from the customer, don't want to do it again. ;(~ JMHO. Chris

    Transition Question

What sort of non-compression fitting are you using to make the transition from PAP to copper?
