I've got some interesting replies to our CO survey. It's amazing how some people still don't get it. Look for the complete story sometime in December. And there is still time to take the survey:

Lots of new visitors
here on The Wall. Perhaps some do not know that Carbon Monoxide poisoning is the number 1 cause of acidental poisoning deaths in North America.
Here is a story about an entire household getting poisoned. No-one died, but they may all suffer the effects for years to come and not even know why.
If your combustion appliances have not been tested for CO, you are taking a great risk with your health and the health of every person that enters your home. The folks in this story "woke up ill"......they were lucky. Most don't wake up at all.

A perfect example of confusion
School evacuated for "high" levels of CO.
Levels found to be "not high enough" to be dangerous.
Well....which is it?

Another school
Got kids in school?
Do you think the maintenance crews are testing the combustion appliances in the schools?
Remember, these kids were already poisoned before anyone realized there was a problem.

"Carbon monoxide lays brothers low"
Published on: 11/09/06
Two Gwinnett County brothers were rushed to the hospital Wednesday afternoon after showing signs of carbon monoxide poisoning.
The men had been working on a car inside the basement of a Norcross residence and closing the door periodically because of the cold air, Lt. Thomas Rutledge of Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services said.
A third person (the wife of one of the men) was inside the house and alerted emergency personnel after hearing a noise coming from the basement.
Both men were conscious when firefighters arrived, Rutledge said, though both men displayed symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning. Each was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital; one in serious condition, Rutledge said. Their conditions were unknown as of Wednesday evening.
