Per NFPA 54, a #53 D.M.S. drill gauge orifice at 11 inches water column will flow 28,769 BTUs per hour at sea level.

Andersen-Forrester sells gauging drills with charts.

    furnace orifice size

    I'm working on a furnace that was set up originally for natural gas, was switched to lp gas then back to natural gas. there's a little green sticker someone put on the gas valve indicating the valve regulator is for propane so I'm going to change that. but how do I know the orofices are the correct ones. the manufacturer is "intercity products and I don't know how to get in touch with them. there are 6 tubes that the gas shoots down and burns in the heat exchanger. I took out one of those little nozzle things and it has the number 53 on it. how do I know if that size is for propane or natural gas?
