Am10

I recently installed my first GB. Ubernice! As I was firing for existing old convectors for temp heat I didn't really pay attention to controls. I believe it was an older off the shelf with the RC10. It was shipped with an outdoor sensor. The new zone is a warmboard kitchen. I am using a simple 3-way mix down. What is the function of the OD sensor shipped with the older models w/ RC10?. Indoor reset is a little foreign to me (pun intended) I'm starting to think I might not need the AM10. Please advise.

    AM10

What is an AM10 and why is it used. I am a poor carpenter that installed a GB142 last year.

    AM10

the Am10 is the out door reset module that comes with the GB142 now instead of the RC10. I believe you can buy the Rc10 as an option, but you can only use one or the other.

    Right on Ted!

Ted is correct. The AM10 is an outdoor reset control for the GB142. This is one of the easiest controls to program and install. On a call for heat, the AM10 "guides" the system temperature based on the outdoor temp. The GB142 will still modulate based on delta T. When there is no call for heat the GB142 does not maintain temperature. The AM10 module is now standard with the GB142. The RC10 is an additional option. The RC10 and AM10 cannot be used together. I'm sure Joe will see this and rep0ly, but to me it sounds like they shipped both controls to you accidentally. You should choose one and go with it.

I am a firm believe in outdoor reset. But, I recently got my GB142 up and running as it took me a year to get my heating system installed.(hey, I was busy installing heat for other people). I am going to give the RC10 indoor reset a fair trial in my home. So far I am happy. Lets see how the fuel bills are and how our comfort is this winter.
