in THE MAIN WALL
i had to drain hydronic system to change air valves throught the line.
i can fill system with water before or after water softner.
which is better?

    Through the Water Softener. Since the PH and overall water conditions are bad,(that's why you have the softener)it is important to periodically monitor your ph levels in the boiler. Bad PH can kill valves fittings and operating components.
