beware of the nipple

I get a call from a buddy of mine that having problem with a gas pack not firing.

Get there climb up on the roof and start to check the safetys all ok.Start furnace get a call for heat the draft inducer comes on.Goes into lock out mode.Out on pressure
switch.Hook up the manometer.Only getting half of the wc that the switch needs to pull in.

Check amp draw on inducer its fine.Pulled the inducer motor
and check the blades ok.Pulled the end cover off the hx all
clean and hx ok.Look into the tapping in the housing all seem clear.HMMMMMMMMM.

Then I flip it over and look inside for the nipple you know
the one thats has to be 1/8 of inch distance from the blade
so it can get a good enough suction to pull in the pressure switch. No nipple.

I leave and head back to the shop to finsh laying out some metal, he goes to pickup a new housing. He justs call to let
me know all is well.

It a shame they dont make those nipple so you can screw a new one back into the housing.

Anyway hope this info helps some of you guys down the road.

Peace!
