My GB-142

It is a brisk 28 degrees this morning. My panel rads are purring along at 118 degrees AWT. Does it get any better than that? The desine temperture is 135 AWT @ 14 OAT. I have installed a Johnson A-419 temperture control as a outdoor starter along with the new AM-10{removed the RC-10}for constant circulation. The upper floor has TRV'S mounted on each rad and the bathroom has a towel warmer with no TRV for constant flow. I also have two other panels with only hand valves to eliminate the need for a pressure bypass valve. The grundfos 15-58 runs fine on speed 2. This boiler is AWESOME. I have installed 4 so far and my customers are amazed. Photo's to follow.

Thanks

Ray M

The temperatures you are running sound great. Any idea what the return water temperature is? Do you have any info on the Johnson control? Please post some pictures.

  • outdoor temp starter

    118° F very nice.

i've been experimenting to find the best (costwise and functionality) device for an outdoor temp circ starter and the winner is: a tekmar 508 thermostat with the slab sensor output hijacked as an outdoor sensor. you can see the outdoor temp on the display and make adjustments, (unlike a themostat mounted in an outdoor box) and is less costly than a digital aquastat.

    Outdoor starter

The A-419 is around 60 dollars. We use them for DHW control, buffer tank control and refrigeration. The adjustability of this control is outstanding. Short cycle protection, differential and eeprom memory. No i dont work for Johnson but i do a lot of control work.

    Thanks

    Return temp's

The delta T is variable as the TRV'S modulate. I will install my Logit this week and take some readings. The thermometer's on the pumping stations are not as responsive as the Logit. I will keep you informed.

    Thank's

    Nice job.

    Like the controls ideas guys.

I started using Buderus pump and mix stations now. I like them, quick, easy and consistant.
