Thanks for the info but the mounting plate is leaking and the refractory need to be replaced,the new kit has what looks like putty. But it is hard so what is best to use. Thanks Tom

As Norm said you can clean through the burner mounting hole, however many of this units by now have flue gas seepage by the chamber mounting plate and I now use 3/8 stove rope around the plate glued on with RTV Silicone and it makes a better seal than the gastket material that is sent with the chamber kits. I was told by Al from Portland I think that a bit of anti-seeze on the boiler before putting back together will keep the gasket from sticking in the future.
