I think those plastic guages are not for beckett burners, they make them for Wayne, Aero, etc.

The beckett electrode guage I use is the "T" guage thats not quite a "T" anymore. Its a thin metal piece that comes with every set of electrodes you buy.

ADJUSTMENT

Hello all--I have one of those plastic beckett tools that slides over the nozzel assy and it has a little nub where the electrodes should be set--Just wondering how accurate that gauge is? I always made the electrode gap the thickness of a nickel and a little foward of the nozzel...

We are dealing with a hot air system using a beckett gun--75 80s Nozzle.. Thanks all.. Have a great night!!

Beckett has

Beckett has the plastic gauge and the metal T gauge. I prefer the tee gauge and only use the plastic one to set the Z dimension. If you do use the plastic one DO NOT force tightly gapped electrodes over the plastic nub or it will wear it and change the dimension. Nickels were used on older burners.

The reply to Leo's post. Was it that you see that it says Beckett. or was it flippant?

Those plastic insert gauges are ONLY to adjust the "Z" demension from the burner assembly flange, to the F head mounted on the end of the tube.

The electrode adjustment has to be made with a T gauge...or you're going to miss the boat. The "T" gauge gives the electrode settings for all of the DIFFERENT heads. The L, the V and the F heads, are all a bit different...and the control that they are being attached to, ALSO makes settings a little different. If you aren't familiar with them, maybe it's time to have a go at some Beckett training.They offer it on line..but you've got to get the password from them.

Give it a try. I know it's worth the time. Chris
