My baxi boiler keeps sparking to light the pilot flame but the flame is lit. This can go on for varying periods then suddenly the boiler will light. Tghe fault can go away for weeks then return. I have cleaned the boiler and the pilot jetm, the flame seems good , has anyone any ideas.

ground
What you describe is a failure to see enough microamps to make the control stop the sparker. Check that the ground is good from the panel to the boiler then run a separate wire from the pilot to the ground. If you can measure microamps do so. The sensor should be cleaned with a scotchbrite or steel wool.0
