pri / sec question

Does the pri loop need any flow control? 30' or so of 11/4 pipe with a 007 moving it. 162,000 BTU atmos CI boiler.

I install one...
use B&G Checktrol flanges for the pump, so they are built right in.
As for the indirect, you can find charts that will give recovery rates for different flows and boiler BTU's, like this for the WM tanks.

That's up to you...
within reason and pipe sizing.... as that graph shows... more flow, more hot water, more btu's more flow needed. One thing to watch is that some indirects run very high heads and you need to take that into account when sizing the pump and piping.
