Wirsbo versus ReHau panels
For those that have used these products, which do you like better, and why?
Wirsbo quick Track (with the aluminum strips on the bottom of the track
ReHau Raupanel (with the tubing snapping directly into the aluminum plate)
For applications where this tubing system is being installed under hardwood, or other kinds of flooring.
Ignorantly I like the Raupanel based on what Ivebeen reading, but I don't have enough experience with radiant understand the pros and cons of each.
I was hoping I could draw from your expeience to help me with my first radiant experiment (my house)
Also, with either isit recommended to space tubing closer togeather in areas with outside walls then widen the spacing as you approach the center of the room? I've gotten mixed opinions about that.
Thanks in advance

I have the same question,I have a ex basement concrete floor and want to heat floor with radiant.I plan on using insulation under floor track, wondering if others have also did this?I'm also looking AT BOTH SYSTEMS.0 -
The Raupanel transfers heat better resulting in lower water temps and better efficiency. Also you get a faster response time resulting in less setpoint overshoot. Another advantage is that it uses 3/8" tubing which has a lower pressure drop resulting in a smaller pump. Wirsbo uses 5/16" tubing.
However the Quicktrack is less expensive, and it is also thinner which can mean all the difference in the world when it comes to retro-fit applications.
As for installation.. I prefer the Raupanel. I have always had trouble getting Quicktrack to line up with the return radius. One disadvantage of the Raupanel is that if installed improperly it can sqeak. I always throw a bead of silicone between panels. It's not in the instructions but I do it anyway.0 -
Quik Trak is weak stuff. You can heat most houses with it, but it's not particularly powerful. Raupanel is very powerful stuff. From a performance standpoint, there is no comparison.
I would follow Josh's tips (and will, actually, since we had a squeaky patch on one of our projects) with the silicon.
Varying tubing spacing by walls is not worth thinking about except in very large (commercial) spaces. If you have to vary tubing spacing, you might as well put tighter runs on the outside, but ultimately it's not a big deal.
If you were going to go with quik trak, I'd save some bucks and do joist trak in the joists.. it'll outperform quik trak.0 -
Thanks very much Josh, I appreciate the advice.
I'm officially sold on the Raupanel
