Charlston pro steel steam radiator

These are steel tube radiators made for steam obviously. I was going to use them on a project (a 1920's apartment building converted to condominiums). My project was one unit out of six. The owner did not like the standard CI radiators and wanted something sleeker.

I queried the steam radiator company about compatibility with cast iron, (the mass issue, heating and cooling rate between cycles). They said that they worked fine which lead me to think that they (or at least the person I wrote to) did not know what they are talking about.

My concern obviously is that the rest of the building governed heating for all, not this one unit, which would tend to cool off rapidly while the rest of the units were comfortable. I could not afford that headache.

In the end we went with recessed Burnham Radiant.

That said, if these are the entirety of radiators hooked up to a given boiler (not mixed), the ratings should hold up as to EDR/SF.

I really wanted to try them. Sorry, no direct experience, just a near-miss and cautionary note.

Anyone have one or experienced the pros and cons of these units?
