How come the return tapping is only 1"? It does make sense to me that the supply is 11/4" and the return is only 1". What is the purpose for this? What if you need a larger size pipe? THis is the first one I've don and it doesn't say anything about it in the instructions.

Return Bushing
The return bushing converts the 1.250 parallel thread to 1" NPT thread. Also on the G115/21 and G115/28 the bushing diverts the return water in the boiler. This brass bushing must be used. The reduction from 1.250 to 1.00 at the boiler adds little to no head loss on the system.0
