All this talk about what is a leak in the Propress threads has got me thinking.

Has anyone seen "leaks" in the pex press system? I'm including pexcel and fostapex.

    Love the stuff

We've installed literally miles and miles of both types. Not one single, solitary, lonely leak. My personal opinion is that their joining system is one of the best if not the best for pex piping due to the fact that the sleeve contacts much more tube. Just compare the length of the stainless sleeve to the standard 1/4" copper ring you see on most run of the mill pex jobs. Their fittings are different than most also due to the greater number of "ridges" or contact points. Many fittings I see have only 3 or 4 while the Viega fittings have 6-7. These contact points are what actually does the sealing on a press fit and their wide sleeve takes full advantage of that.

    for this reason

I am most comfortable with Uponor propex fttings for the way they are joined.
