You know , back when this was new , I'd come in here and **** about the " day's events " . I'd " trash " certain brands ( I'm big on brand names ) or practices...I don't anymore. I'm thinking of the " Propress " topic...man , that will get " legal " and that thread will be referenced at a minimum.

Is it all in how you say it...I mean , if I say " I am in love with B&G pumps and everything else belongs in a dumpster "....Or " I don't like the color " Green painted products " in my piping system " ....could that be used against me ? ...LOL.

I had a discussion with a " factory service rep " the other day. He was ragging on his " own " product ( a high -end ac system ). We concluded that there are very few products on the market which are engineered to be " IDEAL " , from a mechanical standpoint." If things cost 5 dollars more to produce , they will be beat by a competitor selling for 5 dollars less " ...I was thinking about Dan's contracting triangle of time vs money vs quality.

I enjoy products that don't get me out of bed at 1:00 in the morning , my " bias " is based on that. Cast iron feet , red painted pumps never let me down . Most controls that say Honeywell or Tekmar are usually working when they're supposed to. If I ever mention a " brand " name from now on , it will be to the positive , just remember that every other product in that catagory belongs " IN THE DUMPSTER "....B & G rocks...Peace - hvacfreak

edit...Spirovent air elimanators came to mind after I posted. Those things just do what they claim...I want a business like that.

    Like everything.....

Our field has become one that rests within a "Global economy".
The price of fueling our lust for comfort has also made the shift....and if someone from somewhere far away is willing to address the requirements and our needs...we have to give them a look, and the customer a choice.

I too, am partial to green,(In more than one way)but realize that I also have choices...and will adjust them to the customers requirements, and the products variables. The ones that are NEEDED will be installed for both of our requirements.Anything less would conflict with the primary "green" that I consider appropriate.

The choice is mine. The customer will not only see the difference in their fuel and electricity savings, but MY ability to repair and replace it when it is -10 and the house is cold .

Things change, adjust and accept them accordingly. JMHO. Chris.

P.S. We still joke, but with the costs ....not so much as the old days! (Ask a music question!) JCA

    Red , not green

    A modern day warrior
    Mean, mean stride
    Today's Tom Sawyer
    Mean, mean pride

Though his mind is not for rent
Don't put him down as arrogant
    His reserve, a quiet defense
    Riding out the day's events
    The river

What you say about his company
Is what you say about society
Catch the mist, catch the myth
Catch the mystery, catch the drift

The world is, the world is
    Love and life are deep
Maybe as his skies are wide

    Today's Tom Sawyer
    He gets high on you
    And the space he invades
    He gets by on you

No his mind is not for rent
    To any god or government
    Always hopeful, yet discontent
    He knows changes aren't permanent
    But change is

What you say about his company
Is what you say about society
Catch the witness, catch the wit
Catch the spirit, catch the spit

The world is, the world is
    Love and life are deep
Maybe as his eyes are wide

    Exit the warrior
    Today's Tom Sawyer
    He gets high on you
    And the energy you trade
He gets right on to the friction of the day

Green pumps fail , and thier reps step away from the plate. I like red ones the best. The River - hvacfreak

edit..." changes aren't permanent But change is " ..to me , that just says it all about what we do

    Wait till ...

The days of "Red Barchetta" and you'll see. Geddy was a prophet. (profit?) What do I know? Chris

    Prophet

but they based that song on a short story called "A Nice Morning Drive", by Richard S. Foster. The car in the story was an MG, not a Barchetta.
