I am installaing a Twin Flo 4200 kick heater in a kitchen remodel. Want to know how far from existing hot water BB loop after cutting in my Moniflo tees can I run the 12 pipe to kick heater? In most of my installs, new const. or remodel, I try to cut in my moniflo tees as close as possible, Nevr had to go further than 3ft to and 3ft from. This job now would be approx. 5ft to and 5ft from.

Not a problem.....
..... as long as you can pitch the pipe up toward the bleeder . If not install a purge valve set up .
tip.Use two vanturi tee's on a kicker..0 -
another question
I never have done this but out of curiosoty can a kick heater be installed in a hot water heating loop as a piece of BB? Supply in and return out and continue to next part of loop.0 -
To stay out of trouble .......
........ I will tell you don't do it.
Installing it in series would add allot of resistance and rob water flow throughout the loop .You even have to be careful where you tee in a power convector . Since it has a reverse aquastat switch , if too much radiation is up stream , it may never turn on from lack of temperature.
But can you ? Yes if it is properly designed in the system...0 -
kick heater
I used to put mono flo tees in, now I just loop it in like baseboard, works just fine. Never had a problem, plus don't have to worried about air lock, in the heater.0 -
I second that
Not in series but on it's own loop and use the hottest water you have; make them first in line as Ed said. Put a kickspace heater at the end of the line you might as well install air conditioning0 -
Just wanted to say
thanks for your input and knowledge. Job worked out great!0
