Life expectancy of Glycol?

I have seen many installs that put in "No Burst" or other glycol formula that have leaky valves, gasket deterioration, and "blue crust" around brass valves etc.. I have heard that glycol must have corrosion inhibitors added to it after a certain amount of time to prevent it from becoming corrosive. Any thoughts on this subject?

    test it yearly

is the only way to know if the inhibitors are still good. If you have no leaks, all barrier tube, and no fill fluid being added, AND it is not overheated due to poor flow etc it should last 15, 20 years or more.

Of course a cleaned system to start with makes a huge difference in the life expectancy.

Most glycol manufactures will provide an in depth anaylsis of the fluid for you and supply needed inhibitor boost package.
