Taco iSeries 3-way mixing valve

it's just that your high limit control on the boiler becomes the max at that point.

The I-series does not control the boiler target temp, it just controls the supply temp to the zone(s) that are connected to it.

As Weezbo said, the reset ratios determine the curve. The dip switches allow for limits or no limits.

We have quite a few of these in the field and we have nothing but good things to say about them. Taco deserves some kudos for that!

I have no problem recommending the I-series controllers.

Looking at Taco's iSeries mixing valves spec sheet, it has several max supply water temp settings (via DIP switches) and one no-max setting. Any idea how this thing can do a reset curve when it doesn't have a max water supply temp.
My apolegies if I'm having a dense-brain moment.

    thanks

    it has sensors ....

you can dial the temp up by degree of difference from like.02 thru 2.2

so when it is going colder you could have it increase temp 1,4 for every degree it falls. like that....

i have used the two way three way and 4 way with outdoor reset..in 3/4" 1" and i have 2 1 1/4" as stash for later in the day :).... i was so jazzed by the B&G 9w, i went with two injection systems using the 406 exp and the 705-2's instead, first.

    Re max

Thank you for the replies. I think I understand now.

What was hanging me up is that if one selects a max of "none", yet the reset equation requires a design supply temp to calculate reset ratio, how would it know the target supply temp?

I should have read the literature more closely where the max value is really a protection number, and the preprogrammed reset ratios based on 72 degres will control the supply temp.

    Thanks again
