Circulator Doesnt Run when hot water is on

My peerless system seemed to run fine, but then I noticed on a cold morning this weekend, I turned on the heat and realized after 5 minutes or so the baseboards felt warm but not fully on. I went down to the basement and notied the superstor zone was on and running, and that the taco circutlaor for the main heat sounded like it was running, but like it was on "low", then the second the grundfos superstor stopped the main pumped sounded like it was on full and everything was normal.

This probably didnt get notcied before I moved in since th hot water doesnt run as much, but can someone give me an idea what might be wrong, it sounds like there isnt enough power to run them both maybe? Thank you very much
Chris

    Nothing wrong

It sounds like your super stor is the priority zone and when it calls for hot water all other zones stop running until the indirect is satisfied.

That way the boiler can concentrate all it`s energy into re-heating your hot water quicker than if it was trying to do that as well as heat your house at the same time.

    Hope this helps, Jim S

    priority

chris, that is called hot water priority. it stops the heat zone pump until the demand for hot water is satisfied. completly normal operation. the thinking is that you wouln't even notice the heat not running for the 10-15 min. it takes to satify h/w demand.(unless your looking for it). rob
