Wire size

pulls less than 1 amp. of power, about as much as a 75W light bulb. 14 wire is plenty to run 1 circ. make sure you have it on a 15 amp. or smaller breaker.

Wire size
I was suprised to find the wire in the Taco 007 to be 18 AWG. I expected 16 or 14 ga. What size is commonly used to power circulators of this size?
Thanks,

wire
14 is the most common 15A wire size so is generally the default. i did ask if they had any 16 ga. BX at a local electrical supply house for this purpose and they looked at me like i was from mars, 14 it is then!0 -
some years ago....
the electrical wholesale houses would only sell 3/8 aluminum flex to boiler makers for wiring around boilers...
i like stranded 14 gauge ....
for temp power i used to like sjo cord....0 -
You can 'whip' fixtures and circs and such to the engineered size of a short run, ie you have 16 AWG wires in 'whips' to flouresent fixtures and small single item loads that pull 2A or less. These whips are for a single 'fixture' only. Ask for lighting whips if you are looking for circ whips. Electrical supply houses have them....These whips are commonly used on 20 Amp circuits with no problems...the 'switchleg rule' but better defined. It is in the NEC.
